Commanding a private promontory high above the Sunset Strip, the Bronze House on Nightingale redefines modern hillside living within the exclusive Bird Streets enclave of Los Angeles. Envisioned by award-winning architect Zoltan Pali and realized by master builder Dugally Oberfeld, this extraordinary contemporary estate unfolds as a work of sculptural precision and light. The residence is sited on a flat lot near the end of Nightingale Drive, capturing panoramic vistas that stretch from the San Gabriel Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Its orthogonal design grid anchors the architecture in order and clarity, while subtle flaring walls give form to an abstracted bird’s wing which is a poetic nod to its hillside perch above the city.

Within, a retractable skylight defines the central atrium, bathing both levels in natural light and connecting the open-plan living spaces to the sky above. Expansive glass panels and operable walls merge indoor and outdoor environments, leading to a shaded terrace, a 106-foot infinity-edge pool with a floating lily pad, a fire pit lounge, and a cantilevered trellis extending toward the horizon. The interiors, finished with warm white oak, Italian limestone, and custom Poliform furnishings, achieve an atmosphere of calm sophistication. A CNC-milled wood partition, inspired by geometric motifs from the client’s Saudi heritage, introduces cultural resonance, bridging modern design with spiritual symbolism.

Beneath the surface, the lower level carves into the hillside to reveal a tranquil wellness retreat complete with a gym, sauna, steam room, saltwater floating pod, wine cellar, and guest suites illuminated by light wells. The home’s exterior is clad in bronze anodized aluminum panels that subtly shift tone throughout the day, from reflective amber to near-black at dusk, imbuing the structure with a dynamic presence that evolves with the changing light. Designed for privacy, serenity, and architectural purity, A Bronze House on Nightingale exemplifies the mastery of form, material, and context that defines contemporary luxury living in Los Angeles’ most sought-after enclave.
