Aman Residence New York: A Bespoke Home on Fifth Avenue – The Pinnacle List

Aman Residence New York: A Bespoke Home on Fifth Avenue

Completed in May 2025, Aman Residence New York is a 4,000-square-foot private residence on Fifth Avenue with full interior design by NOBÉL Design Studio.

Located in the historic Crown Building, across from Tiffany & Co., the residence occupies one of Manhattan’s most distinctive addresses. The project began with a challenging existing condition: the apartment had no straight walls and required a complete gut renovation before the new interior could take shape. NOBÉL rebuilt the residence from the inside out, developing the design around the existing architecture, the city views and the way the client would live in the space. Its Fifth Avenue location and the scale of the Crown Building became part of that context, informing the character and overall direction of the interior.

Planning became one of the key foundations of the project. The main living space brings together the living, dining and kitchen areas within a continuous layout, supported by more private zones for focused work and everyday routines. The organization of the residence was developed around how the family moves through the home, how shared and private activities overlap, and how circulation, service and daily functions can work naturally within the space.

A high level of customization became another defining part of the residence. Bespoke furniture, lighting, stonework, millwork and architectural elements were developed throughout the project, each designed around the proportions and functions of its specific location.

Among the more technically complex pieces is the kitchen island, a sculptural stone element weighing approximately 1,000 pounds. Its development required close to a year of engineering and design work, combining continuous stone veining with functional storage, reinforcement and integrated mechanisms.

The living room also incorporates a custom Henge sliding wall system, adapted specifically to the dimensions of the space. The brass-framed composition integrates media, shelving and display functions into a single architectural element.

Another important custom feature is the fireplace, defined by a large sculptural brass surround paired with a custom stone base. The stone component was shaped from substantial blocks and engineered internally to reduce weight while accommodating the fireplace structure. Together, the brass and stone create a strong architectural focal point while meeting the technical requirements of installation, transport and long-term use.

These elements are only part of the custom work developed throughout the home. Bespoke furniture, lighting, stonework, millwork and architectural details appear across the primary bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living areas, each designed specifically for its place in the residence.

The material palette reinforces the character of the residence. Travertine, bronze, leather and warm timber appear throughout the home in different applications, creating continuity between spaces and supporting the calm, highly tailored atmosphere of the interior. The consistency of these materials also helps connect rooms with different functions into one unified residential environment. Natural light was carefully considered throughout the residence’s spatial composition.

The project also reflects NOBÉL’s technical process. Before construction begins, the design is developed through 3D renderings, technical and shop drawings, engineering documentation and detailed coordination with the client and project team. Major decisions are resolved before fabrication and installation begins.

This preparation was especially important in New York, where construction inside a completed multifamily building was limited to restricted working hours. Pre-engineering and detailed documentation helped minimize cutting and fabrication on site and allowed the team to work more efficiently within those constraints. It also gave the team greater control over the execution of complex custom elements before they arrived on site.

The same process guides NOBÉL projects across different locations. Design, technical development and custom fabrication are treated as one coordinated system, with the goal of carrying the approved concept through to the finished interior as accurately as possible. At Aman Residence New York, the completed spaces closely follow the original 3D visualizations, from the overall planning to individual architectural details.

The result is a highly individualized residence shaped by careful planning, bespoke development and technical precision. Aman Residence New York brings together daily function, custom design and detailed execution within one of Fifth Avenue’s most recognizable residential settings.

For NOBÉL Design Studio, the project reflects the studio’s broader approach to residential design: developing planning, concept, engineering and final execution as one continuous process.
