Located in a maritime district in the Partido de la Costa, thirteen kilometers north of the city of Pinamar and four hours from the city of Buenos Aires, the House in the Dune is a luxury summer home with an architectural archetype harmoniously linked to the topography of the lot with terrain that follows the topography of the natural dunes of the place.
The social area had to be constituted as the protagonist
space of the house. The kitchen, connected with the living-dining room,
should be spacious, and be connected, in turn, with an outer half-covered space
that would house a grill. In addition to the connection with the kitchen,
this semi-covered had to be part of an outside space, which served as expansion
of the living-dining room. As for the private area, the principal raised
the requirement that the house be equated with three bedrooms; the main en
suite and two others, distanced from it, with shared bathroom. The
materiality chosen was the concrete seen, because this is a material of zero
The upper floor enjoys frank longitudinal views from the rear of which can be seen, from the foreground, a wild landscape of acacias and, further away, a valley of tall pines. The bedrooms, located in the lower part of the lot, open directly to the green by means of private semi-covered spaces in close continuity with the natural surroundings. The aesthetic proposal expresses the complementarity and, in turn, the strong contrast between the noble expressions of bare concrete present throughout the house to that of refined yet rugged luxury living.
