Designed to complement the striking backdrop of Camelback Mountain, this contemporary Arizona residence seamlessly integrates with its desert surroundings. Originally conceived by architect Bing Hu, the home reflects his training at Taliesin West and Frank Lloyd Wrightโ€™s philosophy of organic architecture. The exterior, clad in oxidized copper, basalt stone, and expansive glass, allows the structure to blend naturally into the landscape while maximizing panoramic views. Interior designer David Michael Miller contributed key finishes, while designers James Magni and Jason Kalman refined the interiors, ensuring a balance of modernist elegance and inviting warmth.

The interior scheme embraces a tactile approach, where contemporary design meets rich textures and sculptural forms. In the living area, a tufted blue silk-velvet sofa pairs with a bronze-and-charred-oak coffee table, while curvaceous chairs and sheepskin-covered stools introduce organic softness. The dining space, framed by sweeping views, features a handcrafted maple-and-bronze table beneath a striking glass-droplet chandelier. The kitchen, a refined mix of walnut, aluminum, and lacquer cabinetry, is punctuated by sleek stainless-steel stools, reinforcing the home’s minimalist yet textured aesthetic.

Upstairs, the primary suite is a study in understated luxury. A custom-designed floating bed in calfskin leather, walnut, and bronze takes center stage, surrounded by cashmere and wool rugs that heighten the roomโ€™s sensory appeal. The adjoining sitting area features a ruched Ultrasuede chair and a sectional upholstered in gray chenille, creating a serene retreat overlooking the desert. His-and-her bathrooms, clad in stone with lacquered cabinetry, continue the homeโ€™s theme of refined simplicity. Throughout the residence, every element, from the sculptural patio furnishings to the infinity-edge pool, serves to enhance the tranquil desert setting, ensuring the home remains an extension of the breathtaking landscape beyond.
