Casa Pirul is a stunning architectural masterpiece located in Mexico City that presents a design ethos of modern luxury with a harmonious blend of history and modernity. Originally built in 1944, the property underwent a transformative restructured rebirth after it was acquired in 2020. While preserving the charm of its vintage brick walls and iconic chimneys, as well as a captivating circular terrazzo staircase, the rest of the house underwent a meticulous reconstruction from its very foundation. Situated atop a picturesque ravine, the house spans two levels, thoughtfully designed to seamlessly merge indoor and outdoor spaces. The main floor boasts an expansive open social area, which effortlessly connects to a terrace overlooking a resplendent pool and meticulously landscaped gardens. A double-height library and functional workspaces add depth and character to this inviting space. Upstairs, two elegant bedrooms and a laundry area provide private sanctuaries.

The architectural vision of Casa Pirul hinges on the concept of blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces. To achieve this, the house features concrete walls and a robust metal structure that gracefully spans the 10-meter expanses and overhangs required by the design. The chimneys, adorned with irregular pink stone from a Hidalgo mine, serve as focal points, while Caledonia granite from India graces the floors, terraces, and pool. Italian Grigio Cárnico marble was chosen for bathrooms, the bar, and select tables, creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance. Throughout the house, Canadian Oak wood lends a warm and welcoming tone, complemented by a careful selection of lighting to accentuate the curated art and sculptures. This integration of natural materials and architectural design creates a captivating synergy within the home.

Casa Pirul is not merely a home; it’s an eco-conscious oasis. Equipped with cutting-edge technology for energy efficiency, water conservation, and solar power generation, it exemplifies a commitment to sustainability. The lush landscape design was integral to the project, seamlessly incorporating vegetation such as Japanese guava trees, myrtles, and bougainvilleas. The house is surrounded by highly crafted gardens that enhance its overall aesthetic. Architect Daniel Álvarez describes Casa Pirul as a warm and inviting space, where each element, from architecture and landscaping to lighting and furnishings, harmonizes to create a sense of perpetual vacation. Casa Pirul is not just a house; it’s a sanctuary where history meets modern luxury, and sustainability coexists with aesthetics that are both functional and artistic without compromising luxurious amenities that provide understated grandeur.
