The Pros of Moving to a New House
If you are one of the lucky ones who has a rather large budget to go out and get the things you have been missing, then most people would advocate looking for a new house. By moving into a pre-finished home, you are saving yourself the trials and tribulations that go along with a big construction project.
There’s actually a chance that you might even be able to find a house that has what you’re looking for and then some. If you’re able to ante up a bigger price, there are houses on the market that offer up almost anything.
The Cons of Moving
If you do indeed have a budget that will allows you to move almost anywhere you want, there is still a downside. The biggest negative is going to be that you are moving into someone else’s home. That means the layout and the features have all been decided for you. If you choose to go this route, you might find that sooner or later you’re going to have to get an addition anyway. There is also the added negative of having your price, and what the place offers dictated by the market you are in.
The Cons of Adding On
The biggest negative, when talking about adding onto an existing home is the mess and the noise and the stress that comes along with construction. You also need to do quite a bit of shopping in order to find a contractor who is going to be giving you your money’s worth. There’s also a chance, depending on what you are planning on doing that the construction could take quite a while. The final, and possibly biggest negative of simply trying to add to the house, is you may not have enough room to expand.
If your property doesn’t have the space you need in order expand properly you might end up having to settle for something less than what you wanted when you started out.
The Pros of Adding On
The biggest plus when talking about a room addition is that you aren’t really constrained by what is already there. Assuming you have the means and the space available, your imagination is the only thing holding you back. Once you find a company that can do whatever it is you are looking for, you can get whatever plans you want drawn up done down to the last square inch.
Depending on what you are looking for you can also save yourself a pretty penny, even if the addition is going to end up being costly. Buying an entirely new house, if what you are really wanting is just an extra little plus also tends to be akin to throwing the baby out with the bath water. Getting something added to your house is quite a bit simpler than the overkill that can occur with a move.
