Michael Jackson's Xscape (2014) Album: Do You Know Where Your Children Are

First recorded recorded during the Bad sessions, then revived for the Dangerous sessions, before being shelved for a later date, Do You Know Where Your Children Are could have been fit for any album, and that’s why Timbaland and J-Roc went to work on getting this one out.

Using a hypnotic keyboard riff as the central melodic sound with climbing synths in the bridge, listeners of this track will appreciate the new age futuristic feel that breathes life into Michael Jackson’s artistic expression. More so, this is one of those message songs that Jackson liked so much. It tells the story of a girl running away from sexual abuse and landing on the streets of Los Angeles, where she turns tricks.

This song hits home for Jackson as he was a victim of abuse and accused of it with several allegations. Some listeners of this track will be overtaken by his troubling life, while others will appreciate the strength it took Jackson to overcome the heated moments of his life to creatively empower a positive message he believed in. What was once leftover is now a thrilling track built on hard-hitting snare drums and epic horns.
