Michael Jackson's Xscape (2014) Album: Blue Gangsta

Moving from breathy restraint to screaming soul, Blue Gangsta is one of those gem hit songs that Michael Jackson was anticipating to release at the right moment. On an album of great vocals, this one is a standout.

In the sense of a concert, Blue Gangsta would have played as a nice companion piece to Smooth Criminal and Dangerous. This song continue that theme of mobsters and gangs, where in this song he is betrayed by a woman and left cold hearted upon becoming the self proclaimed Blue Gangsta – reminiscent to how Michael Corleone played by Al Pacino eventually turned cold in The Godfather trilogy.

There’s no doubt that Blue Gangsta would have played a special theatrical part in Michael Jackson’s dance routines in concert had he eventually released this track.
