A luxury residence of steel, glass, and concrete, Boz House was designed as a series of compartmentalized modules and concrete podiums that transcend spaces and define volumes within the residence to blur the boundaries between exterior and interior elements. Created as a monolithic architectural statement of modern luxury within the surrounding African landscape, the sculptured geometric residence uses cascading negative spaces to define social and private spaces and deliver a pure and natural atmosphere of peaceful luxury living.
A bridge linking the upper story bedrooms frames the double volume entrance hall and a backlit perforated wall of steel scaffolding boards creating a sensational backdrop for the sculptured see-through concrete staircase. The kitchen overlooks the lanai and garden while the frameless folding doors create an invisible threshold between the inside and out. These doors, when completely open, allow for the kitchen and dining room to overflow onto the lanai and bar, making entertaining effortless. The lanai with a sunken jacuzzi is snugly positioned between the pool on one side and a stone-cladded wall on the west which screens the afternoon sun. Upstairs you will find four bedrooms, each with their own private balconies. Three bedrooms are situated on the western wing, while the spectacular master suite is located on its own private eastern wing.
The concept of an African bush lodge arose from the vastness of the site and the natural setting of the stand within the estate. This is the theme that inspired the architecture of the house and the way it responds to nature and its immediate surroundings. Translating this concept into a contemporary home was almost effortless thanks to the location, orientation and natural beauty of the site. The variety and combination of textures used within the estate create a natural synergy with the African landscape that compliments the design vision to deliver a truly unique and exclusive luxury contemporary residence.
